Halloween date night featuring an outfit full of stripes, showing off my new wig and makeup featuring first time contouring attempts. The evening was surprisingly warm [considering last year there was the ‘frankenstorm’], so we took advantage of that and saw Dracula at the Delsea Drive-In. Can never get tired of seeing such a classic film, especially when armed with a mug of hot chocolate and freshly made popcorn.
Today it has been grey skies and raining since I woke up, with even more rain on the way. It’s alright though - we had plenty of holiday fun going on haunted hayrides, skulking through cemeteries and seeing plenty of fall foliage while exploring local lakes. We also recently took a trip to the Blue Hole, legendary stomping grounds of the Jersey Devil, and have plans to visit a few more sites he is associated before the season is over.
As much as I miss being the one doing the scaring or performing for a costume audience out in the deep dark woods, I not only appreciate being able celebrate one of my favorite holidays by doing things that have become a sort of tradition, but also the fact I get to do them with one of my best friends.
